Responding to a frantic distress call from the Harmonia Array, the crew dove headfirst into danger—much to Max’s delight and Gwain and Bizha’s mild horror. The deep space observatory was surrounded by agitated star whales whose disorienting sonic waves were already wreaking havoc. Dr. Lyra Vance greeted them at the airlock with a mix of relief and panic just as the whales’ song hit, sending Max spiraling into vivid hallucinations and imaginary fistfights with Captain Darcy. Once Bizha managed to snap him out of it (and received a well placed punch in thanks), the team learned that the whales’ behavior had escalated from odd migration patterns to full on strafing runs against the station. With the Array’s crew partially evacuated and Dr. Vance aboard to assist, the team set out to investigate the pod directly, trusting in their ship’s shields, Gwain’s piloting flair, and a healthy dose of reckless optimism.
Their daring approach through the outer whales was anything but smooth—Gwain’s alley oop maneuver got them through, but not without console shattering impacts. At the pod’s center, they discovered a massive yellow parasite clinging to the matriarch whale, its tendrils burrowed deep. A misfired laser shot triggered another wave of hallucinations, but once the crew recovered, they plunged straight into the whale’s mouth to track the parasite to its root system. Inside the bioluminescent organ caverns, they battled swarms of white creatures, dodged vital organs, and unleashed a barrage of photon torpedoes to destroy the parasite’s egg nest. Bursting back out into open space, they lined up one final shot—Max blasted the parasite free, shattering it into drifting fragments. Victorious and whale goo splattered, the crew returned to the Array as heroes, where Dr. Vance honored them with commendations and a celebratory banquet worthy of an epic spacefaring romp.
