Out of the Mine

Ya’ve been down in the tunnels all mornin’, doin’ the good work—booby‑trappin’ ore, lickin’ rocks to see if they’re friendly, hidin’ in rubble just because it feels right—when one of the others comes barrelin’ in shoutin’ that the mine’s about to be condemned.

Now, that’s a mighty harsh word for a place that’s never done nothin’ wrong. The mine’s been good to us! Warm, crumbly, full of shiny distractions. Why’re the humans judgin’ it so hard?

After a bit of panic and a lot of arguing, someone finally figures out the humans meant “shut down,” not “condemned,” which is… probably better. Maybe. Either way, it means quittin’ time, and quittin’ time means findin’ the entrance again. Which… uh… someone definitely remembers. Probably.

Welcome to the group, newbie. First time leavin’ before the humans slam the big door? Don’t fret. Just keep yer candle lit, yer tail low, and yer mind open to the fact that kobold “navigation” is more of an art than a science.

So grab yer candle, sharpen yer instincts, and try not to lick anything too cursed. It’s time to make yer way Out of the Mine—before the humans shut the door for good.
